This time it got a real classic - after all, the original DeathAdder has been around since 2006 and with 15 million copies sold, the success is unbroken. The new DeathAdder V3 Pro is inconspicuous, but has the finest technology under the hood and is lighter than ever.
The DeathAdder V3 Pro makes no bones about it and sits right at the top of the Razer lineup's food chain. With at least 159.99 euros in the standard version, it really isn't a bargain. But it only really unfolds its splendor with the new HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, which enables a sampling rate of 4,000 Hz. However, it costs extra, at least a whopping 34.99 euros. Fortunately, Razer thought of a bundle of DeathAdder and a dongle, which costs 177.50 euros.

You have to expect a lot for the price and at first glance, you are almost a little disappointed. Not because of the workmanship, but because it is flawless. No corners, no edges, perfect gap dimensions, nothing rattles, nothing wobbles. It is rather the simplicity and the low weight of only 63 or 64 grams (depending on whether black or white) that deceive the perception.
The DeathAdder V3 Pro is primarily aimed at right-handed esports players who don't need frills, but rather a functionality in all respects. Two mouse buttons, two thumb buttons, and a mouse wheel. End and end, that's all there is. Ah yes, there is a combined power and DPI switch on the underside. Absolutely minimalist and unfussy. Add the HyperPolling USB dongle and a USB-C charging cable with a soft, flexible textile cover and you're done.
A first bold grab for the rodent gives rise to joy. The surface is slightly roughened and has a good grip. Why Razer included additional stickers for the sides and the mouse buttons is a mystery to me, especially since a sticker solution always seems somehow suboptimal and cheap. But alright, as a little extra for players who really need something like this, let's pass it by.
The ergonomics of the feather-light mouse have been slightly revised. The mouse buttons seem to be a little longer, the spine a little higher, and the curve a little offset. Small details compared to the predecessor, but they are noticeable, because the mouse fits perfectly in the hand, especially with the palm grip, but also with the claw grip. Those who prefer fingertip grip are probably better off with the symmetrical Viper V2 Pro.
The arrangement and behavior of the controls are also pitilessly good. The two thumb buttons are sensitive, but still have a good pressure point and are perfectly arranged. The latest optical switches of the meanwhile third generation are slumbering under the two mouse buttons with crisp clicks, but are extremely quick to use. The clickable mouse wheel has a fine grid and sits enthroned on the sides in the middle without any play, which can also be used precisely until you drop.
The finest technology slumbers under the hood. The optical Focus Pro 30K sensor delivers up to 30,000 DPI and, according to the manufacturer, should enable a fantastic scanning accuracy of 99.8 percent. With 750 IPS speed and 70G acceleration, the DeathAdder V3 Pro is almost the Formula 1 car among mice. Thanks to PTFE sliding surfaces, the device scurries across the table without any problems, and thanks to smart AI functions such as Smart Tracking, Motion Sync, and Asymmetric Cut-off, different surfaces or mouse pads are no obstacle.
The HyperPolling Wireless Dongle offers another improvement over the standard dongle for its additional cost. In 2.4 Ghz wireless mode, it enables a polling interval of a mere 0.25 ms compared to the usual 1 ms. The 4,000 Hz HyperPolling reduces the latency even further. Normal players won't care, but it's a real treat for esports players because every fraction of a second counts. Apart from that, the dongle also enables the wireless connection of two devices at the same time - so you can operate a wireless keyboard together with the mouse with just one dongle.
The configuration of the multi-device connection is done like the rest using Razer Synapse, as usual. There you can create profiles, assign up to five DPI presets, and set the sampling rate. Surface calibration is also included here. There are also power-saving functions, such as a sleep mode after inactivity or a battery-saving mode. Of course, the mouse can also be operated by cable if you oversleep reloading. But rather unlikely, the battery life is at least up to 90 hours. One of the reasons for this is that DeathAdder does not have any lighting. No frills, as I said.
In practical use, the DeathAdder V3 Pro leaves nothing to be desired. It lies wonderfully in the hand, fatigue does not even appear. The keys are crisp and wonderfully quick to use, and the mouse wheel is a dream. It's almost impossible not to like anything about this mouse - except perhaps the exorbitant price and the fact that it's actually completely overqualified for the average Joe.
I can't shake the feeling that Razer is increasingly setting itself apart from the competition. The DeathAdder V3 Pro is also an extremely successful piece of peripherals with the finest technology and no real weaknesses, apart from the suboptimal grip solution with stickers. Yes really, stickers. The DeathAdder is so inconspicuous and simple and almost feels a little "cheap". But that is deceptive in all respects because the DeathAdder is equipped with the most modern components and has a flawless finish.
The new sensor with a full 30,000 DPI shoots the bird in terms of precision and responsiveness, but the optical switches are also impressive. The revision of the ergonomics together with the reduction in weight is also having an effect - the mouse fits perfectly in the hand. Add to that the new HyperPolling wireless dongle with 4,000 Hz and there is hardly anything left to be desired, even if so much high-end naturally has its price. A great part that esports enthusiasts in particular will enjoy.
