Items like cotton balls and conkers can be soaked in peppermint oil to keep spiders at bay.

These items can then be put on windowsills, a chest of drawers or on top of wardrobes.

Peppermint oil can also be used in diffusers to deter spiders from entering the home or specific rooms.

To keep spiders out of drawers, rub two to three droplets of the oil onto the raw side of the wood, preferably in a back corner.

This will keep the spiders out while also making clothes smell fresh.
